Being Outside Doesn't Have to be Another Accomplishment

Being Outside Doesn't Have to be Another Accomplishment

Why the Best Outdoor Days Aren't Always the Biggest Adventures

Life has a way of making us think every day outside needs to be an adventure.

A summit.
A century bike ride.
A paddle across a lake.
A weekend camping trip.

Those are wonderful.

But some of our favorite outdoor moments are much quieter.

A walk around the neighborhood.

Coffee on the porch.

Watching children play in a park.

Sketching beneath a cottonwood tree.

Reading a book while the breeze moves through the leaves.

The Italians have a beautiful expression for this:

Far niente ~ the sweetness of doing nothing.

Science increasingly supports what many of us already know intuitively. Time outdoors can help quiet the nervous system, reduce stress and create space to reconnect with ourselves. The destination matters less than the intention.

We designed eclipse with these moments in mind.

Sun protection shouldn't require constant thought. Our lightweight, soft, stretchy UPF50+ fabric quietly covers the places that receive some of the most cumulative sun exposure; hands, arms, neck, upper chest, and more.. so you can focus on being present instead of chasing shade.

As August begins to transition toward fall, there's still plenty of beautiful weather ahead.

Go hiking.

Ride your bike.

Garden.

Play golf.

Attend an outdoor concert.

Travel.

Walk your dog.

Sketch.

Sit in a park.

Or simply practice a little far niente.

Protect your skin. Recharge your mind. Recalibrate from within.

And if you've been wearing eclipse this summer, we'd love to hear your story. Where has it taken you? What moments has it helped make a little more comfortable?

Here's to finishing summer strong.
