In the spirit of Labor Day, which pays tribute to workers in America, at éclipse Apparel we are honoring the work each of us is doing in our lives no matter the country. We are all working in one way or another; as a parent, at our job or towards a goal. We each create a momentum with where we put our time and talent.
Here, our chosen momentum is holistic fashion. We endeavor to create the most sustainable approach to clothing possible; a circular fashion house where we tread lightly on the earth while supporting each person's enJOYment of their time on it.
What momentum do you want to create?! Knowing the answer can be a challenge, but asking the question is helpful even when the answer isn’t immediate.
Whether it's a day job or a passion, every role we have in our lives is a force in and of itself. What role would you love to have? Goals are inherent to aspirations. There is a striving for the next step; the next improvement is the impetus for going further. Discomfort is inherent in stretching ourselves, similar to the process of building muscle. The muscles do get stronger and larger only when torn and this is uncomfortable. So what do we do?
When get comfortable with the discomfort of growth. We employ our power of focus to challenge ourselves and then recover. It's in the healing of recovery that muscles reconstruct themselves and that we reconstruct ourselves. Know when to push and stretch yourself to the next level, know when to let go and allow. If you overdo it your muscles can't heal and get stronger.
We see the term sustainable fashion a lot these days and it addresses ecology and social justice. At éclipse we've come up with the term 'holistic fashion' which addresses those systems, plus our relationship to them, each other and within ourselves. What are our individual needs; be they soul-level, psychological or physical? What brings meaning and learning to each of us in our lives, be it experiencing glory, fulfillment or challenges? So many questions!
