    FABRIC + CARE:

    87% 37.5™ polyester, 13% spandex, thermoregulating UPF 50+

The activated particles in Cocona™/37.5™ fabric increase the surface area by up to 800%, resulting in outstanding evaporative cooling and UV protection. The climate control fabric retains warmth if you start cooling down or releases warmth if your core body temperature starts to rise. The sun protection never washes out. Made from recycled plastic bottles.

A garment's greatest environmental impact comes from its care after being purchased. Wash only when necessary in order to save water.  Machine wash warm, tumble dry low.

    It's perfect

I ride a recumbent trike. I wanted something that would protect me from the sun, make me more noticeable, and not be too warm. This shirt checks all the boxes.

    Great!

I'm very happy with my hoodie. The customs charge wasn't a nice surprise but I'm happy with the product.

    Like having instant sun protection

I have tried the equinox hoodie, sun sleeves, aurora tunic, and another tunic that seems discontinued. I use the sleeves in the car to keep sun from baking my hands and arms. They are good for me year round. I pop them on my hands like gloves even when wearing a coat. The tunics are good for putting on over workout clothes or short sleeve tops when it's too warm for a jacket, because the sleeves aren't tight. The tunic is a good cover up over workout tops and leggings. I'm not as big a fan of the aurora because it's not long enough for me, and it's too much fabric. I would like to get a hoodie in black if one comes out.

    I really like these products

The neck/face gaiters are great for covid, really give nice cover and they feel good. I got the hoodie/shirt for sun cover and I like that too. Fast shipping, great quality stuff!

Eclipse Sunwear for work and recreation in norther Minnesota

The Eclipse Sunwear shirts are a great new brand of sun protective clothing, and I tried both the hooded shirt in mint green and the electric yellow shirt.
PROS:For health reasons, I have been advised to be cautious about sun exposure, which is a challenge as I do a lot of outdoor recreation and I also work outdoors. The Eclipse Sunwear is pretty awesome at protecting from sunburn and minimizing sun exposure without use of sunscreen lotion, as the fabric screens out UV light. The shirts are made of a lightweight stretchy fabric that is really cool and comfortable to wear doing anything from kayaking to carrying gear for field work. You can wear them swimming and they dry quickly. The hooded shirts are sleek and comfy and have extra pockets, one dedicated to holding your cell phone and keys which is real handy. There are a variety of nice colors, you can choose to “blend in” with natural outdoor colors, or for safety you can choose their fluorescent colors to be seen when biking or hiking or working alongside roads.
CONS: The only con is that the sleeves have open vents on the undersides. These may be meant to keep you cool with airflow in a spot that isn’t exposed to the sun, which may be great at the beach or on the water, but it is gives access to mosquitos when you are in the woods. I am thinking about sewing up the vents in mine for that reason.

I wore both shirts while visiting Stumphges Rapids on the Mississippi Headwaters Water Trail, and I made a video review of the shirts in action while I was outdoors doing field studies for my work, and while visiting the adjacent canoe landing to review it for The Dyrt camping website.
